Hunter Ensley’s decorated college career at Tennessee is coming to a close with the Volunteers celebrating Senior Night against Belmont on Tuesday.
Ensley, from the western part of the state, joined the program in 2021 and saw limited time in 2022 before emerging as a starter in the outfield from 2023-2025, winning a College World Series in 2024.
On Tuesday, Ensley played perhaps his final game at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. After starting and playing the first 2 innings, he was lifted with the Vols holding a 5-0 lead over the Bruins.

— Tennessee Baseball (@Vol_Baseball) May 13, 2025Ensley, who was named second-team preseason All-SEC, is putting together what’s been far and away his best season in 2025. Through 51 games, he’s batting .362 — top 10 in the conference — with 9 home runs and 58 RBI.
While he’s likely played his final game in Knoxville, Ensley will hope his team has plenty of baseball ahead of it. The Vols improved to 40-13 with a 9-4 win over Belmont. They wrap up the regular season with a 3-game road series against Arkansas beginning on Thursday.
Tennessee enters the weekend tied for 5th in the SEC standings.
