A pickup caught fire Monday morning on a highway in Santee, prompting lane closures and sparking a small brush fire, authorities said.
The fire occurred at around 5:50 a.m. Monday on State Route 52, when flames erupted from the back of the truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officials said the driver pulled over to the right shoulder of the roadway, where flames spread to nearby brush.
Crews were able to extinguish most of the fire in less than an hour.
The condition of the driver was unavailable, but no injuries were immediately reported.
The cause of the fire was unclear.
