Gautam Gambhir breaks silence on Virat Kohlis retirement after being blamed for the move

India National Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir penned down a short but emotional message for Virat Kohli after the premier batter announced his retirement from Test cricket. He called him the man with the lion's passion, saying that he would miss the batter.

India National Cricket Team batter Virat Kohli left many amazed after he, through social media, announced his retirement from Test cricket. The premier batter on Monday (12th May) called time on his career in what was his favourite format of the game.

Virat Kohli, who is called one of the best batters in India, recently expressed his desire to retire from Tests to the BCCI, as per various reports. The governing body, however, asked him to rethink his decision, but it seems that the batter was firm on his stance and hence made the announcement.

Virat Kohli's retirement came at a time when India are all set to lock horns with the England National Cricket Team in the five-match Test series. The series, which will start the new edition of the ICC World Test Championship, will begin on 20th June at Headingley in Leeds.

Virat Kohli, who once had a desire to score 10000 Test runs, will end his career a few runs short of that. The premier batter, over the last few years, witnessed a massive dip in his career, and it's fair to say that this surely would've played some part in his decision to announce retirement.

As Virat Kohli made the decision public, many former and current cricketers took no time to express their feelings about his retirement. The latest to join the bandwagon is the India National Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir.
