24 in 24: Last Chef Standing Eliminations Tonight: Which Chefs Went Home in Season 2, Episodes 4 and 5?

24 in 24: Last Chef Standing season 2 returned for episodes 4 and 5 on Sunday, May 11, focusing on "Artistry" and "Adaptability."

In "Artistry," hosts Michael Symon and Esther Choi gave the chefs just 10 minutes to turn produce into a beautiful plate that was judged solely on appearance (not taste at all). Next, the cheftestants were assigned famous works of art to use as inspiration. The guest judge in the first hour was Fariyal Abdullahi, the executive chef at Marcus Samuelsson's Hav & Mar restaurant.

In "Adaptability," the chefs were first tasked with turning breakroom snacks into dessert, then they were given two minutes to shop for ingredients to make a "lumberjack breakfast," but the adaptability part was that they then had to make anything but breakfast for guest judge Brooke Williamson.

Read on to find out which chefs were eliminated, but beware of spoilers.

The first chef sent home Damaris Phillips. The guest judge wasn't in love with her interpretation of the painting Girl With the Pearl Earring.

What were the various challenges in episodes 4 and 5?

The first challenge was to create a dish that wouldn't be tasted but judged solely on appearance. The winning chef was Elia Ambourad, who took home $2400 for her effort of emulating artist Frida Kahlo, and the losing chef was Jonathon Sawyer, who was penalized five minutes for the next challenge, which was an elimination challenge.

The next challenge assigned each chef a famous painting, and they had to use that as their inspiration for their dish. But it was two challenges in one — each dish was given a score out of 50 for how it paid homage to the painting, and each dish was given a taste score out of 50 for how it tasted. As the new Golden Knife holder, Elia got to assign each painting to each chef. She chose the Monet for herself but didn't really have any sabotage in mind for anyone, so she assigned the paintings kind of at random.

Chef Sawyer, who had five fewer minutes to cook, ended up winning with a 90 and became the new holder of the Golden Knife. The two lowest scores were 79 for Chef Kathleen and 78 for Chef Damaris, so Damaris went home.
