With the SEC softball regular season complete, it’s time for the conference to recognize the league’s top performers.
On Friday, ahead of semifinals at the conference tournament, the SEC announced its 2025 season awards, including players of the year, the All-SEC team and All-Defensive Team.
Arkansas’s Bri Ellis was named the Player of the Year. Pitcher of the Year goes to Karlyn Pickens of Tennessee. Two top honors went to the Oklahoma Sooners in their first year of SEC play. OU’s Sam Landry is Newcomer of the Year and the legendary Patty Gasso is Coach of the Year. Tori Edwards of LSU is the SEC’s Freshman of the Year.

The Sooners face No. 5 seed Arkansas at 4 p.m. ET (ESPN2). No. 3 seed Texas and No. 2 Texas A&M are scheduled to face off at 6:40 p.m. ET. The winners will play in Saturday’s championship game at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday.
