Ayush Mhatre, on Wednesday (May 7), took a brilliant catch to send back Rinku Singh during the ongoing game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings at the Eden Gardens.
It was the 19th over of the innings when Rinku Singh tried to play a big shot off Noor Ahmad. The Afghan spinner bowled a short delivery on the leg side, and the KKR batter went deep in his crease before getting on his knees and hitting the ball towards deep backward square leg.
Rinku made a good connection with the ball, and it looked destined to sail over the boundary. However, Ayush Mhatre was in no mood to let the ball fly over his head. He got into a good position right on the fence and made a timely jump to intercept the ball with both hands.
However, he could not hold on to the ball as it slipped out of his hands. The youngster went on to show remarkable awareness as he caught the ball on the second chance. Ayush Mhatre also did well to maintain his balance and stay away from the fence.

Talking about the game, KKR finished their innings on 179/6 after their captain, Ajinkya Rahane, won the toss and opted to bat first. The defending champions were off to a poor start as Rahmanullah Gurbaz departed for just 11 runs.
KKR's middle order fails to deliver
However, Sunil Narine and Rahane steadied the ship with a 58-run stand before CSK struck by taking two wickets in an over. In the 8th over, Noor Ahmad dismissed Narine and Angkrish Raghuvanshi to reduce KKR to 71 for 3 from 69/1.
KKR, however, went on to post a challenging total thanks to some useful contributions from their middle-order batsmen. Rahane went on to score 48 runs while Manish Pandey scored 36. Andre Russell also played a fine cameo of 38 runs. For CSK, Noor Ahmad was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 wickets for 31 runs.
