TLC's newest reality show Polyfamily premiered in late April, introducing viewers to Alysia and Tyler Rodgers and Sean and Taya Hartless, a polyamorous closed quad with a complicated dynamic.
In the upcoming May 6 episode, the family welcomes a baby boy, Quentin—and in a sneak peek clip TLC shared with Parade, Tyler made a bold confession about their new arrival.

To recap, Tyler is married to Alysia but also dating Taya—and Sean is married to Taya but also dating Alysia. The two men are not romantically involved and neither are the two women.
Quentin is Taya's second biological child, the third baby the family has welcomed since joining forces (Alysia and Tyler also have two kids, Dylan and Rayna, from before the closed quad). The family opted not to find out biological fathers of their three youngest children, Barrett, Carver and Quentin.
"Holding Quentin for the first time is absolutely amazing," Sean said in the exclusive clip. "When he first came out and they handed him to me, it's amazing. It's the best feeling in the world."
Although Alysia, Taya, Sean and Tyler decided to hyphenate Quentin and their younger two kids' last names, neither Alysia nor Tyler are legally recognized as parents.
"Under Oregon state law, because Sean is Taya's husband and Taya is the birth mother, by default he is the father that goes on the birth certificate," Tyler explained.
That's when he made a blunt admission.
"I really wish that I could be on the birth certificate for Quentin. I'm a little bit jealous that Sean is and I'm not," Tyler shared. "And I wouldn't take that away from Sean. I just wish I could be there too.
He added, "At some point, we're going to need to find some way to tie us all together and make us all legal parents to all the kids."
