Kagiso Rabadas availability for MI clash announced as GT official makes colossal statement on his ban

Gujarat Titans (GT) Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki shared his take on the situation surrounding Kagiso Rabada. He said that the South Africa National Cricket Team player has expressed regret at an error in judgment and is looking forward to giving his best for the team.

Gujarat Titans have received a massive boost ahead of the game against Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Premier fast bowler Kagiso Rabada has been made available to play their next game of the tournament, which will be played on Tuesday (6th May).

Kagiso Rabada missed the majority of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as the pacer tested positive for recreational drug use. The South Africa National Cricket Team pacer went back home and served his one-month suspension.

Kagiso Rabada, however, is now keen to make a strong comeback and help the Gujarat Titans qualify for the playoffs. He is expected to walk straight into the XI, and his availability will be a boost for his team, especially at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Kagiso has expressed regret at an error in judgement - Vikram Solanki

Vikram Solanki talked about Rabada, saying that the fast bowler will take a lot of lessons from what happened, and they are looking forward to having him back. Speaking to reporters, he said:

"Speaking about Kagiso, I'd like to just get a couple of things across," Solanki said. "The first of which would be that Kagiso has expressed regret at an error in judgement. He's made a telling statement. I read his statement, and I thought that his statement speaks volumes about the personality of the character that he is.

"He has expressed regret, as I said. But he is very much looking forward to getting back to playing the game he loves. He will take his, sort of, lessons from this, and we're just looking forward to having him back as part of our group, having him back at practice. He served his time."

We're looking for now is for him to just be back doing what he loves - Vikaram Solanki on Kagiso Rabada

Vikram Solanki added that they will try to be mindful of the emotion around Kagiso Rabada, and they are looking at him to do what he does best. He added:

"The second thing I'd like to place on record is that as far as procedure and protocol are concerned, everybody that's involved in this episode, right from Kagiso, his representative, all matters, as far as requirements [go], have been followed to the letter. We try to be mindful of the emotions around Kagiso as well.

"But having said all of that, he's now back, having served the time to serve the suspension for 30 days. And what we're looking for now is for him to just be back doing what he loves and for him to be doing stuff that we appreciate him doing. And that's to be part of the team."
