Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant had a poor outing with the bat in the ongoing game against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match between the two teams is underway at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala.
Rishabh Pant, who walked out to bat at number four, continued his poor run of form in the ongoing IPL 2025. The keeper-batter came out when Lucknow Super Giants lost two early wickets and were under massive pressure in the chase of 237 runs.
Rishabh Pant was expected to play a big role for his team, especially with the team reeling at 16 for two and then 27 for three. The keeper-batter opened his account with a massive six as he danced down the track and dispatched delivery from Marco Jansen for a six.
With qualification on the line, it seemed that Rishabh Pant would bring his best with the bat. However, after hitting that six, he struggled to get going as Punjab Kings bowlers kept putting pressure on him. The Southpaw struggled with his timing a bit as well and ended up giving his wicket early.
Rishabh Pant was removed by Azmatullah Omarzai in the 8th over as Lucknow Super Giants came under more pressure. The batter came down the track to loft and, in the process, lost his bat as well as it flew to the square-leg region as he played the shot.
Rishabh Pant sliced the ball straight to the fielder at sweeper cover, where Shashank Singh came in and took an easy catch. He was extremely disappointed with the way he got out as he walked off, looking at the heavens and muttering something.
What caught the attention of many was the reaction of Sanjiv Goenka after Rishabh Pant got out. The Lucknow Super Giants owner looked shocked by the way the keeper-batter gave his wicket, as he was seen having an angry reaction on his face.

Rishabh Pant has been having a tough time in the ongoing IPL 2025. The Punjab Kings skipper has slammed just 128 runs in the 10 innings at an average of just over 12 and a strike of under 100. Of the 70 batters who have faced at least 60 balls this season, only he has a sub-100 strike rate.
