ASU transfer offensive lineman Keona Peat has signed with Arizona football, On3’s Pete Nakos reported on Saturday.
The Valley native follows his younger brother, Koa Peat, who committed to Arizona men’s basketball as a five-star prospect in the 2025 class on March 27.
While in the transfer portal, Keona Peat also received offers to Sam Houston State, Temple and Akron among others. He was originally a zero-star recruit out of Tempe Corona del Sol High School in the 2023 class.
He helps make up for some of the offensive line talent Arizona had lost to the transfer portal, including starting left guard Wendell Moe among several others.
What’s the story behind Keona Peat’s carry from RB as OL?
After getting one snap as a true freshman, Peat received 14 in his redshirt freshman season, all coming in Arizona State’s season-opening win against Wyoming.
Nearly all of the 14 snaps came at center, with the one outstanding coming at running back.
He found himself in the unique position because the ASU men’s basketball team was hosting his younger brother, Koa, on an official visit. Involving the family in its entirety was part of the recruiting push to make it two Peats in Tempe.
Keona was unable to pick up any yardage on the carry, but it no-doubt made for a lasting memory for the entire Peat clan, which also includes three other linemen between three brothers (Todd Jr., Andrus and Cassius) and his father, Todd (19 years in the NFL combined).
