Pascal, whose sister is transgender, wore the shirt a week after the UK Supreme Court established the legal definition of a woman. The controversial ruling said that a woman is defined by her biological sex. It also ruled that transgender women do not meet this legal definition under equality law.

The T-shirt, from designer Conner Ives, supports trans women during a time when trans rights are under threat worldwide. Trans women are sometimes endearingly known as “dolls” within the LGBT+ community.

Ives introduced the top during London Fashion Week, with shirts available to purchase on his website. Proceeds from the sale of the shirt go towards Trans Lifeline, a LGBTQ+ charity based in California.

Pascal has been a strong ally of the trans community ever since his sister came out as a transgender woman in February 2021.
