Two years after Taylor Swift landed on Forbes’ World’s Billionaire list for the first time, the publication handed her crown to another.
Oh, she’s still a billionaire—she’s just no longer the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire.
On Thursday, April 17, Forbes handed that title to Lucy Guo, the 30-year-old cofounder of Scale AI, a company that provides labeled data to help train AI models. Lucy cofounded the company at age 21, and though she left in 2018 over a disagreement with cofounder Alexandr Wang, she retained nearly 5% of the company.
Scale AI is valued at $25 billion, up 80% from its $13.8 billion valuation a year ago. This means that Lucy’s stake in the company is worth an estimated $1.25 billion.
After Forbes released the news on X, fans online discussed the nuances of the crown. “Breaking glass ceilings looks better than breaking records,” wrote one of Lucy’s fans on X.
However, someone on Forbes’ Instagram claimed that Taylor “has actual cash (or a large proportion of it will be cash or public stocks).” Taylor’s catalog of music is valued at an estimated $600 million. She has also amassed $600 million from royalties and touring. And she owns an estimated $125 million in real estate.
Lucy appears to be a Taylor fan. In April 2024, she posted a video of Taylor and Travis Kelce at Coachella. “Met Traylor Swift. Danced with Rihanna all night. Took over Coachella,” she captioned the post.

Taylor, who Forbes certified as a billionaire when she was 33 years old, hasn’t spoken on this new development. But if “You Need To Calm Down” is any indication, Swift isn’t bothered.
“And we see you over there on the internet,” she sang in the song. “Comparing all the girls who are killing it / But we figured you out / We all know now, we all got crowns.”
