Two people were killed Saturday night in a crash near Denver’s Empower Field, police said.
The Denver Police Department first posted about the crash on social media at 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Officials originally said two people riding an electric scooter near Federal Boulevard and 14th Avenue were killed in the crash, but later said the victims were pedestrians walking in the area, according to the post.
The crash, which happened less than half a mile southwest of Empower Field at Mile High and just north of Lakewood Gulch, shut down Federal Boulevard between 14th Avenue and West Holden Place for several hours Saturday night, police said.
Police said the driver stayed on scene after the crash.
