There’s an adage that weekend one of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is for the hype, and weekend two is for the music.
Whether that’s true or not is up for debate. We’ll cover both just to be safe — and you can see it all here.
The second leg of the festival kicked off Friday, April 18, bringing back headliners Lady Gaga, Green Day and Post Malone for a weekend packed with music, food, art and people-watching galore.

Over the past several years at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, the Sonora tent has invited punk rock acts from the Chats to more hardcore ones like Knocked Loose to make up the undercard at a festival typically stacked with EDM, indie and pop acts leading the bill. Thai rapper and singer LISA – notably known for her membership in K-pop girl group BLACKPINK – brought unmissable energy to the Sahara stage.

Lady Gaga headlined Friday night, once again bringing a masterful performance to the desert. And, beyond setting a new standard for what a Friday night headliner should deliver to the crowd, she also set the dress code.
