Chappell Roanmay be one of the biggest pop stars in the world right now, but she's not afraid to show off her rocker edge.
Since releasing her debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, in 2023, Roan's fame has taken off like a rocket, thanks in part to star-making performances at the 2024 Governors Ball and Coachella. With hits like "Pink Pony Club," "Good Luck, Babe!" "Red Wine Supernova" and "Hot To Go," Roan has quickly become a pop phenomenon.
But, she's got some rock in her blood, as she showed off during her performance at Spain's Primavera festival on Jun 7.
Midway through her headlining set, Roan paid homage to rock legends Heart by covering one of their biggest hits, "Barracuda."

"She chewed !! Ann Wilson is not easy to cover," said another.
"Holy [explicative] this is so good " commented one fan.
"More hard rock Chapell Roan pls," said one fan.
Heart, featuring sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson, released "Barracuda" in 1977 as the lead single off their third album, Little Queen. It reached No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has since been regarded as one of the greatest songs in rock history.

Roan has performed "Barracuda" in the past, and one fan said that WITH this recent Primavera performance, Chappell was "making the song her own." She previously covered it at the 2024 Austin City Limits festival, where she referred to it as her "favorite song." Classic Rockalso noted that she covered it in October during her Iowa stop on the Midwest Princess tour.
In April, Roan appeared on Ann Wilson's podcast, After Dinner Thinks, and told the Heart singer that she has "the best voice in rock" and that performing "Barracuda" at Austin City Limits made her "feel like a rock star."
