Speaking with PEOPLE, Winter explained the unique synergy he and Reeves bring to their next project. The two have, as Winter noted, "known each other a very long time.” This history provides the perfect foundation for tackling "a play about two people who have known each other a very long time."

Winter credited his co-star with initiating the project, revealing how their shared history paved the way for this new venture. "And Keanu had this crazy, inspired idea that suddenly turned into reality, for both of us," Winter said. Waiting for Godot is scheduled to open at the Hudson Theatre on Broadway on September 28 and is slated for a limited run through January 4, 2026.
