TRAVIS Hunter has sent a strong message to NFL teams who might not have the same vision for his role as he does.
The 2025 NFL Draft two-way top prospect has continued to make it known that he wants to play both wide receiver and cornerback in the NFL.
Travis Hunter won the 2024 Heisman Trophy after his two-way efforts with the Colorado Buffaloes.
The soon-to-be 22-year-old has had the strong opinion that he should continue to be featured on offense and defense for his next NFL destination.
However, Hunter turned heads with recent comments regarding teams who wouldn’t utilize his two-way talents.
Hunter told CBS Sports’ Garrett Podell that if an NFL team wanted him to play just one position, he would rather retire than play football at all.
“It’s never playing football again,” Hunter said in response to the idea that his future team would limit him to play on just one side of the ball.
“Because I’ve been doing it my whole life, and I love being on the football field.
“I feel like I could dominate on each side of the ball, so I really enjoy doing it.”
Luckily for Hunter, he has stated that teams he’s met with haven’t opposed his desire to play wideout and cornerback.
Nonetheless, NFL fans were stunned at Hunter’s demand to the whole league on social media.
“Who does he think he is,” one commented.
“You don’t really get to demand where you play in the NFL,” another wrote.
“Just feel like this is a bad thing to say before the draft,” a third added.
It’s not hard to understand that Hunter’s one of the most intriguing prospects in the history of the NFL due to his abilities as a playmaker and defender.
Hunter posted 92 receptions for 1,258 yards and 16 touchdowns, as well as a rushing score.
He also recorded 36 total tackles, 11 passes defended, four interceptions, and a forced fumble on defense.

While it won’t be easy to thrive on both sides of the ball in the NFL, don’t tell that to Hunter.
“I just feel very confident in myself, and I got a competitive spirit that I can do whatever I put my mind to, and I feel like I can do it,” Hunter said to CBS Sports.
Hunter has been heavily linked with the Cleveland Browns, who hold the No. 2 overall pick.
The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft takes place on April 24.
