Alabama forward Jarin Stevenson is entering the transfer portal alongside a “do not contact” tag, according to a report from 247Sports’ Travis Branham.
Stevenson was a 4-star guard who signed with Alabama out of the 2023 class. He played his high school ball for Seaforth in Pittsboro, North Carolina. North Carolina offered him out of high school, but Stevenson focused his attention elsewhere. NC State and Wake Forest also offered him during his initial recruitment.
The 6-foot-11 forward played in 74 games across 2 seasons with the Crimson Tide. He started 5 times as a freshman and made 22 starts this past season. He’ll leave Tuscaloosa with career averages of 5.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 17.6 minutes per game. He’s a career 31.2% 3-point shooter and a 63.6% foul shooter.
He’ll have 3 years to play 2 at his next school.
In 37 appearances during the 2024-25 season, Stevenson averaged 5.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game in 18.7 minutes a night. He shot 42.9% from the field and 30.7% from 3. He scored a career-high 22 points in a 103-80 win over Texas on Feb. 11.
Stevenson can space the floor, but he struggled quite a bit over his final 4 games with the Crimson Tide. After playing 30 minutes and scoring 10 points against Florida in the SEC Tournament, he played no more than 19 minutes in Alabama’s 4 March Madness games and scored just 6 combined points while going without a make (0-for-6) from beyond the 3-point line.
Stevenson becomes the third Alabama player to opt for the transfer portal so far this offseason, joining Mo Dioubate and Naas Cunningham. Dioubate has since committed to Kentucky.
Alabama reportedly loses forward Jarin Stevenson to transfer portal Saturday Down South.
