Michelle Williams is already looking towards the future.
The Death Becomes Her star, 45, exclusively told Parade at the 78th annual Tony Awards that she is having a blast on Broadway.
“That's what I'm called to do — just sing the house down, and I love doing that,” she said on the red carpet ahead of the awards ceremony, adding that she loves “bringing people in a theater together to laugh for those two-and-a-half hours — [to] leave all your troubles, anxiety at the door, and come in and expect a good time.”

As for what Williams would like to do next in the theater, “I'm interested in doing a play,” she told Parade, adding that she doesn’t have one in mind — but thinks that she’d like to do “something new.”
While Williams did not perform with her Death Becomes Her cast, she said she was excited to “get to sit back and just support.”
Megan Hilty and the cast performed “(I See) Me!,” a queer-themed number that even sees a cameo from a Liza Minnelli impersonator.
Both Hilty and her co-star Jennifer Simard were nominated for their performances in the musical.
When the nominees were announced for Best Actress in a Musical, Simard was shown on screen with a “That Was Rude” sign, making for quite the viral Tony Awards moment.
This year’s show, hosted by Wicked star Cynthia Erivo, featured performances from the best of Broadway, including a reunion from the original cast of Hamilton.

During the red carpet, Hamilton (original and current) cast member Thayne Jasperson — who has been on and off with the Broadway musical since it premiered in 2015 at the Public Theater Off-Broadway — told Paradewhat it was like when the gang got back together.
“Everybody was like, ‘Thayne’s gonna whip them into shape.’ Because, you know, I’ve been doing the show for 10 years,” Jasperson said. “And so I walked in, and I was like, ‘All right, y’all better pick it up!’”
He explained, “It was so fun because everybody’s got babies. Everybody looks amazing, but they have babies and families now, so some of them haven’t danced in years, so it’s actually really fun to see everybody pick back up into it.”
