American Pickers star Mike Wolfe announced a personal loss in his latest social media update.
On April 7, the History Channel personality took to Instagram with a sad message to his nearly 570,000 followers about a longtime friend named JP who recently died.

"20 years ago I bought a camera and a box of Mini DV tapes and started shooting my adventures picking across America," Wolfe began his reflective post. "The show was just a dream back then for a guy that was sleeping in his van and knocking on doors. But even then I knew how impactful and inspiring each collectors story could be to all of us…."
In the featured image, Wolfe, 60, his American Pickers co-star, Danielle Colby, 49, and a woman named Nora smiled while posing together.
"This is Nora. Danny and I filmed with her a few days ago but I met her and her husband JP back in 2017 when we shot an episode of American Pickers with them," Wolfe explained. "Her and JP have devoted their lives to their passions and collecting. With them both being artist and visual merchandisers you can only image the funky beautiful pieces they came across together."
That's when he revealed the sad news.
"JP has unfortunately passed so what we shot recently was a tribute to a life well lived and the beauty that still remains thru all of his work," Wolfe concluded. "Noras energy has made such an impact on my life and Danny’s I can’t wait for you all to meet her. ?."

In the comments, Instagram followers showered Wolfe with words of encouragement and appreciation for his touching tribute.
One fan wrote, "As much as I like the picks I love the stories that come with them and the people that you meet along the way …beautiful ❤️."
Another shared, "Beautiful Souls. You brought Love and Kindness and Curiosity into all of our homes for so many years."

Meanwhile, a different fan echoed, "So sorry for the loss you are all feeling Mr. Wolfe! We look forward to sharing the story with you?."
Previously, Wolfe confirmed that American Pickers was renewed for Season 27—so fans will likely see the episode featuring Nora and JP then.
