Food Network star Chef Anne Burrell passed away suddenly on June 17 at her home in Brooklyn, New York. Tributes have been pouring in from celebrities and fellow chefs alike, and now Food Network BMOC Bobby Flay has taken to Instagram to share what Burrell meant to him.
Flay posted a photo of Burrell with her beloved cats to his IG stories and wrote, "Worst Cooks in America was the funnest show on TV. All of your co-hosts (me included) were just alongside for the Anne Burrell ride. The greatest gift I got from AB was turning me on to a world of Maine Coon cats (including Nacho)… a gift that I'll have forever. #unforgettable."
Flay was famously known for his giant orange Maine Coon named Nacho, who sadly passed away in October of 2023. At the time, Flay wrote an emotional post on Instagram that read, "It is with an absolute broken heart that I report Nacho has passed away peacefully. I usually don’t post private family business, but I truly believe he was everyone’s cat in some way. Nacho had a magic about him that was truly special.

"He came into my life when I needed him most and brought joyful moment after joyful moment to my household. As any cat parent will tell you, the communication between you and your kitty is real, and Nacho’s inclusiveness in our home inspired me to create something that would nourish cats everywhere. At the moment, my only soothing thought is knowing his likeness and legacy will live on forever through Made by Nacho."
Made by Nacho is Flay's line of cat food that he developed with Chewy. Flay's next Maine Coon after Nacho's passing is Canelo, who is an orange boy just like Nacho was, and whom Flay once referred to as "our hungriest little taste tester" in re: Made by Nacho's food. Canelo joined fellow Maine Coon Stella in Flay's household.
