Gloria Gaynor has shared the stage with the best of them, but there's one artist in particular she'd love to collaborate with.
"I loveJohn Legend," she exclusively tells Parade while chatting about her new album, Happy Tears, out June 6. "I would love to do it with him."
The list of dream collaborations for the Queen of Disco, 81, doesn't stop there, though. Additionally, Gaynor says a few other artists she'd love to work with include Sia, violinist Lindsey Stirling, Usher and more.
"Those are some really great artists doing great things," she adds.
The legendary singer also opened up about what putting out new music for the first time since her 2019 Grammy-winning gospel album, Testimony, means to her, and touched on her new single "Fida Known," which was released in February.
"To me, it means another opportunity to connect with my fans, my audience and my friends," the "I Will Survive" songstress tells Parade. "It's an opportunity to share with them some of my thoughts and feelings about life, and another opportunity to uplift, inspire, and encourage."
As for how her new single is being received by fans, Gaynor says she couldn't be happier with the support she's had since its February release.
"It's been great. It has really been great. We had over a million hits in a couple of days," she says before revealing what fans can expect from her new album: "More of the same good music, good melodies, good lyrics, uplifting, encouraging, inspiring and fun."
Happy Tears is out June 6.
