Skip Bayless is known for saying whatever is on his mind, regardless of what athlete it is about.
He is most infamous for his disapproval of LeBron James, as Bayless has claimed numerous times over the years that he doesn’t believe James has the ‘clutch gene’. While many fans across the country would disagree with that statement, Bayless has stuck to that for years.
Now, it appears that Bayless has his sights on calling out another phenom athlete, as Duke’s Cooper Flagg is the latest victim that Bayless is doubting has the ability to hit big shots late.
“You got to get the ball up on the rim, Coop. It’s a win-or-lose shot. … It’s a situation LeBron has always hated and I’ve always said LeBron was born without the clutch gene, and now, even though Cooper Flagg should be in high school, I have to wonder, does he have the clutch gene? Because somebody’s going to take him first overall and they’re going to have to wonder, does he have the clutch gene? Can you grow one at age 18 or 19? No.”
