Kevin Baconis looking back on the time he spent working alongside late actor Val Kilmer.
While making an appearance on the Thursday, April 3 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Bacon, 66, revealed the lesser-known project he worked on with Kilmer back in the '80s.

"You worked with Val on Broadway?" Barrymore asked Bacon in a clip from Thursday's show, to which the Footloose actor replied, "Yeah, Val and I did a play called The Slab Boys."
The Broadway production, starring Bacon and Kilmer—plus Sean Penn and Jackie Earle Haley—was performed at the Playhouse Theater in New York City in 1983. Reflecting on their time together, Bacon, 66, said he had a "great experience" working with Kilmer.

"Val, I think it's one of the first things he did out of Juilliard," the Mystic River actor shared. "It was great. I just always look at that as one of the great experiences of my life, getting the chance to know him."
Kilmer died of pneumonia at age 65 on Tuesday, April 1, his daughter Mercedes confirmed this week. The legendary actor was known for roles in Top Gun, Batman Forever, Heat, Tombstone and many more films.
He was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014—causing him to lose his voice after undergoing chemotherapy and two tracheotomies—but his daughter said he later recovered from the illness.
