Western Flyer, famous for John Steinbeck’s 1940 expedition, visits Long Beach

Nautical history enthusiasts converged on Long Beach’s waterfront this weekend to delight in the rare opportunity to tour the iconic vessel, which is best known for its 1940 Sea of Cortez expedition with author John Steinbeck and marine biologist Ed Ricketts at its helm.
