Dr. Phil recently weighed in on Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's custody situation—and the former talk show host issued a bold warning in the process.
On the March 26 episode of the 2 Angry Men podcast, the licensed psychologist, whose real name is Dr. Phil McGraw, discussed Kardashian and West's co-parenting struggles.

The former married couple, who split in 2021, share four kids: North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5.
Earlier in March, West released a song featuring North and Sean "Diddy" Combs—who is awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges—despite Kardashian protesting the move. He then shared screenshots on social media of his and Kardashian's text exchanges about the track, declaring, "THE MAN MAKES THE FINAL DECISION," on X.
"If you need an emergency intervention, then you get an emergency intervention," Dr. Phil said on the podcast. "What we don’t want is for these children to wind up in foster care because that system is broken."
He also noted that their celebrity status and wealth wouldn't necessarily prevent that from happening.
"If you think, well, with this kind of money, they’re not gonna wind up in foster care—well, that’s wrong," Dr. Phil warned.
He continued, "If the DCF (Department of Children and Families) gets involved and thinks one parent isn’t reacting while the other is unstable, they will take them. Now, they’re likely to place them with family members rather than strangers, but you don’t want these children left hanging out to dry."
