Sometimes, Survivor contains moments that shirk the on-island cutthroat society that the castaways have created and instead go beyond the game to showcase real-world issues. Tonight's episode contained a multitude of those moments, from the fractured Vula tribe connecting over their parents' stories to Eva having an emotional "episode" post-challenge and using it as a moment to reveal to everyone in the game about her autism. But even in times that reach outside, there is still a game to be played. And it was a big vote for one tribe, as the swing suddenly found themselves swung out of the tribe. Who got voted off on Survivor 48 tonight?

Feeling like an outlier in her very "sporty" Lagi tribe, Bianca found a kindred spirit in Thomas. And the PR manager was looking to spin the game, possibly plotting to use Star's yet-to-be-acquired idol to flip the tribe on its head. Unfortunately, her game massively changed when she lost her vote on the journey, something that would spell the beginning of the end of her game. As the only Lagi in her swapped tribe, Bianca elected not to tell anyone her secret for fear of being targeted. The pressure began to build, as she was hoping to turn two pairs against each other to force a tie, hoping she would emerge unscathed. But her gut got the best of her, as she tried to forge trust with Cedrek by telling him she didn't have a vote. Unfortunately, her worst nightmare came true as, indeed, upon the majority finding out she had no voice, they promptly snuffed her out, leaving her devastated as she departed Tribal Counci.
Eva Erickson makes Survivor history as the show's first openly autistic player. Up until this point, she had kept her diagnosis a secret, only telling Joe Hunter so he could help her through any "episodes" she may have during the heat of competition. And she experienced just that in this week's Immunity Challenge.
After failing to complete her part of a table maze time and time again, Eva was getting visibly frustrated. When she finally sank her ball, her tribe immediately enveloped her, relieved. But Eva was emotionally overwhelmed by everything that happened, reducing her to a state where she was hyperventilating, heaving and screaming. With Probst's permission, Joe crossed tribal lines to come over to squeeze her, give her words of affirmation, and calm her down.
Following what happened, Probst prompted a conversation among the entire cast. During the chat, Eva decided to reveal her autism to everyone, hoping that her story shows those who are autistic should not be afraid to either ask for or receive help. Her speech actually reduced Probst to tears, talking about his own experience as a parent and how grateful she is to be telling her story.
Were any advantages found or played on Survivor 48 tonight?
Yes! Star chose to reveal to her entire tribe that she had found the Beware Advantage (though everyone on the tribe, as well as her previous tribe, already knew). And so Lagi decided to solve the codex together. Eva was able to decrypt it, unlocking the idol for their tribe.
