Veteran Rocker Calls Latest KISS Reunion Plans ‘Insulting’

KISS finished their End of the Road farewell tour back in December 2023, but apparently, they’re not finished performing live.

A post on the Rock N Roll Experience Facebook account announced the KISS Army Storms Vegas, a special fan event set for Nov. 14-16 at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, and it’s set to include a special “unmasked” performance by KISS.

The news did not sit well with everyone. Rival hard rocker Dee Snider of Twisted Sister fame took to X, formerly Twitter, on March 23 and shared his displeasure about the news.

“So I was told today that a @kiss reunion in vegas has been announce. 14 months since their last farewell. That may be a new record for them. I can’t believe people still put up with their shit. To me it’s insulting,” he wrote.

Snider is referencing the band’s previously announced plans to retire that are often followed by some sort of reunion gig.

The Las Vegas event celebrates the 50th anniversary of the fan group known as the KISS Army and the 30th anniversary of the first KISS fan convention. “This exclusive, ‘everything KISS’ paradise marks the first time KISS has performed together since retiring from touring in December 2023,” the post says.

Fans on Facebook had mixed reactions to the news.

“Guess Gene needs more $,” wrote one.

“FFS, Retire already! 'This is our last live show.' Oh wait u have 48 albums, and it's the 50th anniversary of the FIRST one??? I'm sure there'll be shows for the other albums milestones also Saw u guys in 24 yr 'last show,' js wasn't the same, Paul DID sound GREAT! But really guys, I mean, congrats on the 50yrs for DTK.But, Let's put a fork in it huh,” added another.

“I’m ok with lower-key non-makeup shows, definitely not the same as coming back with the full sha-bang, it’s respectful to the legacy,” another fan wrote.

This news comes after bassist-singer Gene Simmons recently announced that he’s postponing several April dates by his solo band.
