DENVER (KDVR) -- A Denver man's remains are believed to have been found in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park after he was reported missing in mid-February.
Jordan Marsters, 31, was reportedly last seen on Feb. 13 in the national park in Montrose County. On Tuesday, the National Park Service said it believes crews found Marsters' remains.
The National Park Service announced that park rangers and a member of the Black Canyon Search and Rescue Team found human remains in a remote, highly technical area to access in the wilderness area at the national park.
The service said the remains are believed to be Marsters, although due to the complexity of the location, there are still efforts to recover the remains. The national park is currently reaching out to nearby parks with extreme technical skill sets to help with the recovery.
A positive identification will be made by the medical examiner's office after the remains are recovered.
Marsters was reported missing by his family on Feb. 15. The search began for over a month in the national park after park rangers found clues placing Marsters in Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
Multiple agencies including the Montrose Police Department, Montrose County Sheriff's Office, Denver Police Department, Montrose County Posse Search and Rescue Volunteers, Friends of Black Canyon Search and Rescue Volunteers and Slavin Private Investigations helped with the search.
