Ty Pennington is opening up about how he feels being left out of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition reboot and he insists he’s “fine, totally fine.”
Pennington made his comments public in an Instagram post on March 12, with the caption, “No, really, I’m FINE! ???️”

For good measure, Pennington added the hashtags “#jk #itsallgood #nohardfeelings #thatsshowbizbaby #emhe #extrememakeoverhomeedition #extremehomemakeover #movethatbus #rightoverme #funny #reels.”
That was accompanied by a video clip of Pennington seated on a chair, wearing a red Levi’s jacket and beige hat in which he mimes over an audio track from Friends.
“I’m fine!! Totally fine!! I don’t know why it’s gone all loud and squeaky because really, I’m fine!!” says the histrionic audio track. The words, “When someone asks me why I’m not on THAT ? show” are superimposed on the video clip.
The clip from Friends was featured in a scene when Ross (David Schwimmer) attempted to convince Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Joey (Matt LeBlanc) that he was “totally fine” with them dating.
From 2004 through 2012, Pennington was the host of Extreme Home Makeover. Since 2019, he’s been hosting HGTV’s Rock the Block.
Fans of Pennington were quick to come to his support on Instagram.
“There’s no Extreme Making over without Ty! Period!” wrote one.
“"Move that bus" will never sound the same when said by anyone but YOU! ps told ya it should have been trademarked ?,” added another fan.
“But WE’RE not fine with it! ?” added fellow HGTV star Jenn Todryk, host of No Demo Reno.
Another HGTV star, Veronica Valencia of Revealed, also weighed in. “TY… you already know how much we love you and how I personally feel about you and your unwavering support throughout the years…. but just so you can hear it again, you will forever and always be EXTREME to me. ?? You holding that megaphone and screaming across the country (with your pants falling off your butt!) is the reason why I am where I am today. Thank you for being you. We love you bud!!!”
“I said I’ll never watch that show without Ty being on it. Period! You’re still my favorite…Trading Spacing super fan. ??,” added another fan.
