The live-action remake of Snow White has been riddled with controversy—and most recently, voice actor Martin Klebba slammed the premiere changes ahead of the upcoming film release.
On March 12, Klebba, who voices Grumpy in the movie, told TMZ he was "seriously bummed and a bit pissed" about Disney reportedly scaling back the Snow White premiere.

The scheduled March 15 premiere will reportedly not include dozens of media outlets that Disney typically invites to such events, Variety reported, with an invite only extended to photographers and a house crew.
The studio reportedly opted for a smaller rollout for Snow White following backlash from changes to the film's plot and characters, along with bold political opinions from its stars, Rachel Zegler (Snow White) and Gal Gadot (Evil Queen).
Klebba shared that Zegler and Gadot "shouldn’t have overshadowed everyone else’s hard work" by voicing their support of Palestine and Israel, respectively. Instead, the premiere "deserved to be a major event."
The Israel-Palestine conflict was just one of the many controversies surrounding Snow White, however.
Following the initial news of the live-action remake, actor Peter Dinklage spoke out against the concept.
"Literally no offense to anything, but I was sort of taken aback,” he said on a January 2022 episode of Marc Maron's WTF podcast. “They were very proud to cast a Latino actress as Snow White, but you’re still telling the story of ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.’ Take a step back and look at what you’re doing there."
Dinklage continued, "It makes no sense to me. You’re progressive in one way, but you’re still making that f--king backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together. Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox? I guess I’m not loud enough.”
Seemingly in response to his critique, Disney announced it was "taking a different approach" to "avoid reinforcing stereotypes" in Snow White, a spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter.
Meanwhile, Zegler has spoken out in defense of making the film's more feminist plot.
“People are making these jokes about ours being the PC Snow White, where it’s like, yeah, it is—because it needed that,” the actress told Vanity Fair in October 2022. “It’s an 85-year-old cartoon, and our version is a refreshing story about a young woman who has a function beyond ‘Someday My Prince Will Come.'”
Snow White hits theaters on March 21.
