If you’re not a TikTok devotee, you were likely first introduced to the phenomenon known as “MomTok” via the Hulu reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Having debuted on Sept. 6, 2024, the unscripted program followed a group of eight Utah-based TikTok influencers navigating the aftermath of an extramarital “soft swinging” scandal — i.e. consensual non-monogamy where couples engage in intimate acts with other couples, but don’t swap partners — that caused quite a stir in their local Mormon community.
The show’s bold portrayal of female Latter-Day Saint devotees confronting societal expectations — with all of the friendship drama, marital struggles and religious complexities that that entailed — clearly gripped viewers. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives became Hulu's most-watched unscripted season premiere of 2024 and quickly getting picked up for an additional 20 episodes, with Season 2 set to arrive on the streamer on May 15, 2025.

And the series no doubt gained even more fans when it made its broadcast premiere on ABC on Monday, Jan. 27. The new season will surely attract more scrutiny to the personal lives and romantic relationships of its cast members. Here’s the latest status update on who is still together in The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast.
'The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives’ Couples: Are They Still Together?
Demi and Brett Engemann

Demi and Bred knew each other for quite a while before they started dating in 2020 and marrying a year later. “So, if you don’t know, my husband and I are 16 years apart and I knew him through a family friend growing up,” Demi explained in a February 2023 TikTok video. “He was so much older than me. When I was 9 years old, he was married to his first wife and having babies.” Bret was previously married to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Angie Harrington, with whom he shares two sons; Demi was also previously wed to Blake Corbin, with whom she shares daughter Maude.
However, that large age gap and blended family is seemingly working for the Engemanns. In December, Demi publicly celebrated her hubby's birthday with a sweet Instagram carousel, calling him "the most loyal, kind, thoughtful, humble, understanding, and generous man to walk earth."

Mayci and Jacob Neeley

Mayci was in a tough spot when Jacob came into her life: she was a single mom to son Hudson from her former relationship with her college sweetheart Arik, who tragically died at age 19 in a car accident before the baby was born in 2015. Jacob came into Mayci's life when Hudson was just seven months old, and their relationship was platonic for some time, as Mayci was naturally still grieving. However, friendship turned to romance, and the pair married in 2018 and added daughter, Harlow, to the family in 2021. (Jacob officially adopted Hudson in '23.)
The still-together couple asserted that they were not involved in the swinging scandal that dominated the first season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, so they didn't have the same relationship issues as their castmates. However, Jacob poked fun at his social media star of a wife on Instagram this January, writing that Mayci "signed us up for a reality show w/out telling me," but quipping that he didn't mind because "it pays the bill$."
Jessi and Jordan Ngatikaura

Like several of her castmates, both Jessi Ngatikaura and her current husband Jordan were previously married before getting together. However, nowadays, they're one big, happy, blended family, with three children — they each have a child from past relationships and share son Jagger.
The Ngatikauras have been married since 2020 and regularly cameo on each other's social handles. Noted foodie Jordan recently gave a humorous peek into their nightly routine on Instagram, posting a video of him eating in bed next to his reality-star wife with the caption: "She loves when I slurp my food as loud as I can ??" We guess couples that slurp together stay together?
Layla Taylor and Clayton Wessel

The Secret Lives devotees already know that the youngin of the bunch, 23-year-old Layla Taylor, had split from her ex Clayton Wessel — with whom she has two sons, Oliver and Max — as she celebrated her newfound divorced status in the first season of the reality series.
Layla revealed to Us Weekly that she believes they rushed into tying the knot just one year after they started dating because she became pregnant. "I felt like we owed it to our unborn baby to give our family a chance [but] just don't think we ever had a stable relationship built at all,” she explained. “And then adding kids on top of that, it just kind of kept getting more and more toxic and we fought more than we ever were happy with each other. It was just really bad.”
Thankfully, as of September 2024, Taylor was dating someone new. But don't expect her to settle down anytime soon. "I do feel like I need to date around, I really need to discover who I am. I’m only 23. I’m very, very young,” she told the outlet.

The rockiness of Taylor and Dakota’s romance was evident from the season premiere of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which saw the TikToker arrested for domestic violence after an alcohol-fueled argument with Dakota go out of hand. As for where things now stand between the couple — who share a 10-month-old son Ever True, along with Taylor's children, Indy and Ocean, from her marriage to ex Tate Paul — it seems the duo's on-and-off relationship is back off.
In a September 2024 interview with Us Weekly, Taylor revealed: “I would say we’re working on things and I actually have no idea where it goes with us from here. We are not fully together, but not fully done. I don’t know where the future holds with him and I." Per their respective social media, the former duo did not spend the holidays together and Taylor shared in an Instagram Q&A earlier this month that she's still navigating the pain of their split: “I cry everyday. That’s grief, let it through so it can pass and you can heal. The more you resist the pain coming through the longer the suffering, learned this the hard way.”

Whitney and Connor Leavitt

Season one saw Whitney and Connor Leavitt depart Utah for the sunny shores of Hawaii, not only because of that swingers' scandal that rocked their community but also the revelation that Connor was dealing with a porn addiction and had created a secret Tinder account to solicit NSFW images from other women.
Despite those challenges, however, the pair are currently still together. “When you go through something that tough and you come out the other end, man, your relationship is stronger than ever," Whitney shared on a September 2024 episode of The Squeeze podcast. "During, it sucks, but holy hell, I’m grateful for where we are now.” And where there are now means expanding their brood: in October, the Leavitts welcomed their third child, a boy named Billy Gene.
Mikayla Matthews and Jace Terry

Mikayla and Jace have weathered storms together since the beginnings of their relationship, which included an unexpected teen pregnancy: "I found out I was pregnant after less than a month of knowing each other," the MomTok influencer shared in a 2021 TikTok video. "I decided to keep the baby, told him and he was 110% supportive and we went from there.” After giving birth to son Beckham when Mikayla was just 16 and Jace 21, the couple married six months later and went on to welcome two more children, daughters Haven and Tommie.
Despite those dramatic marital beginnings — as well as some understandable controversy over their five-year age gap — Mikayla and Jace remain together. They rang in 2025 together in Manhattan's Times Square alongside fellow MomTok member Mayci Neeley.

Jennifer and Zac Affleck

On December 31, Jennifer Affleck posted a tear-filled TikTok calling 2024 "the hardest year" of her life, but one that "will forever change me and who I want to be." And her marital issues with husband Zac no doubt were a part of that, with the twosome butting heads about everything from Jen enjoying Chippendales dancers to Zac's gambling, a habit frowned upon by The Church of the Latter-Day Saints.
However, last September, Jennifer revealed to Vulture: "Since filming, we’ve done therapy nonstop. If we continue in our relationship, there are changes that need to be made. If they’re not made, we might have to … look at other options. But as of right now, I do think he’s trying his best to make those changes." Despite some rumor-causing TikToks sans wedding rings, Jennifer is still with Zac; the couple sold and moved from their Utah home in order for the latter to attend medical school.
