Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Abhishek Sharma has finally spilled the beans on his fiery exchange with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digvesh Rathi during the high-drama IPL 2025 clash at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday, May 19.
In a heated moment during the IPL 2025 match in Lucknow, Abhishek Sharma and Digvesh Rathi were involved in a fiery verbal fight that got the cricket world talking and even faced the wrath of the BCCI for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct with their actions.
The incident unfolded during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s successful chase of 206 runs when Rathi dismissed Abhishek and gave him his famous "notebook" sendoff. However, before pulling off his signature sendoff, the LSG spinner cheekily gestured goodbye towards the SRH opener.

Daniel Vettori hails Abhishek Sharma’s powerplay blitz after SRH crush LSG
Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori hailed Abhishek Sharma’s explosive knock that lit up the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday. Chasing 206 runs, the SRH opener came out swinging and tore into the LSG bowlers from the very first over.
His fearless hitting in the powerplay completely broke the back of the opposition’s bowling attack, giving Hyderabad a strong start with his 20-ball 59-run knock against the LSG. By the time he was dismissed by Rathi, the job was nearly done, as SRH wrapped up the chase comfortably in just 18.2 overs to eliminate LSG from the playoffs race.
