UNC baseball fail

I am disappointed and dismayed at the lack of reporting of the UNC Bears baseball in the Greeley Tribune. This past Friday was their home opener; and there was no information about the results of the game, nor of Saturday’s double-header. Please correct this oversight and continue reporting for the duration of the season, even if it is just final statistics of each game.

    A letter to the president

    Dear President Trump,

Why are you lying about Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and calling him a dictator? He was elected in 2019 in fair elections with 73.23% of the vote compared to Poroshenko, the incumbent at 24%. By calling him a dictator are you confusing him with your best friend, Mr. Putin? You do realize although you claimed to win by a landslide, you really only won the 2024 U.S. presidential election by 49.9% to 48.3% for Kamala Harris, hardly a landslide.

What reference did you use that says Ukraine started the Ukraine-Russia war in February of 2022? Only Vladimir Putin believes that Ukraine started this war on Feb. 24, 2022. After all, why would Ukraine invade its own country, bomb, and kill its own people?

Why are you lying about President Zelensky’s approval ratings in Ukraine being only 4%? The recent polls in Ukraine showed Zelenskyy’s approval ratings were 57%. Interestingly your latest approval ratings in America are only 45% (Reuters/Ipsos poll). You can call it fake news, but the numbers don’t lie like you do most of the time.

Finally I don’t understand why JD Vance and you felt like you had to try to bully and embarrass President Zelenskyy in the meeting in the White House before the potential signing of the precious metals deal. Mr. Zelenskyy was only asking for reassurances that the United States would continue to back Ukraine should Putin fail to keep his promises about further invasions of Ukraine. This seems like a very fair question since Mr. Putin had broken his promises many times in the last 10 years on previous deals with Ukraine. Mr. Zelenskyy has thanked the U.S. many, many times for our support over the last three years, so admonishing him over not saying thank you at the current meeting seemed unnecessary.

Thank you for listening to my concerns.

    Ron Baars, Greeley
