Both teams were reportedly interested in swinging a deal for Stafford before he circled back to Los Angeles. Frankly, it’s laugh out loud funny to think about Stafford linking up with the Raiders and Giants and concluding that he is better off sticking around. Perhaps this should serve as a reminder that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. And even if it is, the odds are that you don’t want to have to maintain a messy lawn.

The Giants have discussed the idea of pursuing Rodgers during the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis this week, per league sources. The news comes after Stafford, a top offseason target for New York, agreed to a restructured deal to stay with the Los Angeles Rams.

While Rodgers, 41, is still under contract with the New York Jets, the club is expected to move on from the veteran quarterback when the 2025 league year begins on March 12. The four-time MVP is not believed to have a robust market, but Rodgers could end up fitting the bill as a stopgap, at the least, in the Giants’ ongoing search for a starting quarterback.
