Tom Brady is doing everything he can to get the Las Vegas Raiders back to winning ways.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner is a minority owner in the franchise having purchase a ten percent stake in 2024.
The No.1 priority for the lowly Raiders this offseason is finding new head coach Pete Carroll a quarterback.
The Silver and Black have cycled through a bevvy of mediocre signal callers, with legendary quarterback Brady leading the hunt for a new man under center.
According to Fox Sports insider Jordan Schultz, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford recently caught up with Brady in Montana.
Many did the easy maths and deduced that Brady was trying to recruit Stafford to the Raiders.
“Raiders minority owner Tom Brady recently hosted Rams QB Matthew Stafford at his home in Montana, where they spent time together and went skiing,” Schultz wrote.
“Brady has been actively trying to convince Stafford to join the Raiders, and discussions are ongoing. Several teams are interested in Stafford if the Rams decide to move him, with Las Vegas believed to be the most aggressive suitor.”
Stafford is in high demand but will command a large feeGettyStafford still has a year left on his deal with the Rams, and some fans accused Brady of tampering the veteran field general.
However, according to the NFL themselves, that Montana meeting between Brady and Stafford — whether planned or impromptu — wasn’t tampering.
“No issue here,” an official NFL league spokesman told OutKick in an email Thursday morning.
“The Rams provided permission.”
If the Raiders are to land Stafford they’ll have to fight off stiff competition from the likes of the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers, who are both in need of a QB1.
However, Stafford is reportedly holding out for at least $50 million a season, which the Rams could easily match and keep him around Los Angeles for the foreseeable future.
