Arbys Brings Back Fan-Favorite Menu Item With a Twist

Arby's is bringing back a cult classic menu item with an incredibly bold move.

In a statement shared with Parade, the company teased fans over their disdain for the brand's decision to remove one of their favorite side items last summer, its Potato Cakes, only three years after it was taken off menus and replaced with another very similar option (Crinkle Fries).

"Let’s face it, Arby’s customers have been on an emotional rollercoaster with their beloved Potato Cakes as the iconic, crispy, golden treat briefly came back for a limited time last July only to be taken away once more. That is why this time, Arby’s will sue themselves if they are taken off the menu."

According to the fast food chain, it's so serious about bringing back the menu staple–which first debuted in 1988–that it devised a "pre-class action lawsuit" plan, which allows customers to sign up to be paid out part of a settlement should Arby's go back on its word.

Should its Potato Cakes be removed again, Arby's said it "will pay out $1 million dollars worth of Arby's food to be split amongst the signees."

"No menu item return has ever been this ironclad," the company added.

But there's more incentive to signing up than just knowing that one day, should your favorite Arby's side be no more, you could benefit from the sad news. Those who do register for the "pre-class action lawsuit" will be eligible to redeem a DoorDash code unlocking free delivery and a two-piece Potato Cake between today and next Wednesday, March 5.

Customers looking to sign up to be a part of the limited-time offer can do so by visiting the official website or by calling 1-833-LAW-SPUD (1-833-529-7783).
