Diane von Furstenberg suffered a major fall this week—but she's thankful her resulting injury isn't "worse."
The 78-year-old fashion designer shared two selfies showing a large bruise around one of her eyes to Instagram on Tuesday, Jan. 25, explaining that a recent tumble was to blame.

"Upon arrival in LA, I fell on the pavement and hit my forehead," she wrote in her caption.
"Does not look good for sure but grateful nothing more serious," von Furstenberg continued. "I am owning it, applying lots of arnica gel and happy it was not worse !! Owning it is the secret of survival !"

Her friends and followers expressed their concern in the comments.
"Oh dear!!!! Glad you are ok love you ❤️?❤️??," Kris Jenner wrote.

In June 2024, von Furstenberg opened up to People about the success of her iconic wrap dress.
“I didn’t know when I made that little dress that it was going to be a social phenomenon and that people would be buying it 50 years later,” she said, adding, “I made the wrap dress, but really the wrap dress made me. It just happened. I owe her as much as she owes me."
von Furstenberg also shared her best style tip during the same interview.
"It’s not trying to be who you are not," she said. "Embrace your imperfections. If you do, you turn them into assets. I can’t say it enough: There’s nothing more becoming than that.”
