Brighton vs Bournemouth Stats: The Key Insights

The Opta supercomputer is backing Brighton to take the three points on Tuesday, with the Seagulls winning 40.5% of pre-match simulations. Brighton have won both of their evening kick-offs (7pm or later) in the Premier League in 2025, beating Ipswich 2-0 and Chelsea 3-0. They didn’t win a single such match in the whole of 2024 (D6 L4), netting just five goals across those 10 games. Bournemouth are unbeaten in their last 10 midweek (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) Premier League matches (D3 L7), though their last such defeat came against Brighton in April 2023 (2-0).

Brighton will look to make it four straight wins in all competitions when they welcome Bournemouth to the Amex Stadium in the Premier League on Tuesday.

It’s been a solid start to 2025 for Brighton after a seven-game winless league run to end 2024, winning six of their nine games in all competitions this year to leave them ninth, just three points behind Tuesday’s opponents Bournemouth.

Fabian Hürzeler’s men thumped bottom side Southampton 4-0 at St Mary’s Stadium on Saturday, having beaten Chelsea 3-0 the week prior.

That emphatic win over Chelsea ended a run of five without a win in the Premier League at the Amex Stadium, last winning consecutive home league games in September 2023, the second of which came against Bournemouth.

Incidentally, that September 2023 triumph over the Cherries also marked the last time Brighton won three Premier League outings in a row, while they last did so without conceding in October 2018.

In Bournemouth, though, Brighton are facing a side unbeaten in their last seven Premier League away games, winning five and drawing two.

Bournemouth have scored at least twice in their last eight on the road, the longest run by a side in the competition since Liverpool (10 between May and December 2021).

It’s been a magnificent season for Andoni Iraola’s men, who are dreaming of unlikely Champions League qualification having earned 43 points from 26 games, though they were beaten by struggling Wolves 1-0 at home on Saturday after Illia Zabarnyi’s 31st-minute red card left them up against it, ultimately succumbing to just their second defeat in their last 16 matches in all competitions.

Justin Kluivert has scored nine away goals in the Premier League this season, with all of them coming in his last seven appearances on the road in the competition. No Bournemouth player has ever scored 10 away goals in a single top-flight campaign.

Brighton have attacking firepower of their own, however, with Georginio Rutter involved in seven goals in his last eight appearances for the Seagulls in all competitions (six goals, one assist), though five of those goal involvements came away from the Amex Stadium.

Winger Kaoru Mitoma is also facing one of his favourite opponents on Tuesday, involved in more Premier League goals (four goals, one assist) against Bournemouth than he has against any other side. Mitoma has either scored or assisted in all four of his league meetings with the Cherries.

In terms of team news, Hürzeler will remain without Ferdi Kadioglu, James Milner and Lewis Dunk, while Danny Welbeck and Joel Veltman are also doubtful after missing the victory at Southampton.

For Iraola, Zabarnyi’s red card against Wolves means he will miss Tuesday’s game through suspension, while Marcos Senesi, Adam Smith and Enes Ünal are among others who will be absent through injury, though Evanilson could feature after being an unused substitute against Wolves on Saturday.

    Brighton vs Bournemouth Head-to-Head

Brighton have won each of their last three home league games against Bournemouth, having been winless in their previous five against them beforehand (three draws, two defeats).

In their first stint in the Premier League between 2015-16 and 2019-20, Bournemouth won four of their six meetings with Brighton (one draw, one loss). Since their return in 2022, they’ve lost four of their five against the Brighton in the competition (one victory).

The last clash between the sides was back in November, when goals from João Pedro and Mitoma led Brighton to a 2-1 victory at the Vitality Stadium.

    Brighton vs Bournemouth Prediction

The Opta supercomputer is backing Brighton to make it three straight Premier League wins on Tuesday, coming out on top in 40.5% of its 10,000 pre-match simulations.

Bournemouth will need to bounce back quickly from the Wolves defeat if they are to keep up the pressure on the Champions League places, and they take the points 32.8% of the time. The draw, meanwhile, is rated at a probability of 26.7%.
