Despite one Eastern Conference Finals appearance since Michael Jordan called it quits, the Chicago Bulls remain one of the NBA’s most profitable franchises.
CNBC released their 2025 team valuations this week, and owner Jerry Reinsdorf has to be pleased. The Bulls are currently the fourth-most valuable franchise in the NBA and worth an estimated $5.8 billion. CNBC also lists them as generating roughly $402 million in revenue during the 2023-24 season.
For a better look at just how they stack up, here are the league’s Top 10 most valuable teams:
Golden State Warriors – $9.4 billion New York Knicks – $7.5 billion Los Angeles Lakers – 7.0 billion Chicago Bulls – $5.8 billion Houston Rockets – $5.7 billion Brooklyn Nets – $5.6 billion Boston Celtics – $5.5 billion Los Angeles Clippers – $5.4 billion Miami Heat – $5.1 billion Dallas Mavericks – $5.0 billionFinishing off the list with the least valuable franchise is the Memphis Grizzlies at $3.2 billion. Considering Jerry Reinsdorf purchased the Chicago Bulls for a mere $16.0 million, nobody is happier by this news than the long-time owner. Might not be a bad check to cash, Jerry!
Having said that, it’s hard not to think the Bulls still have a lot of room to grow. One of the NBA’s largest markets, there is certainly a case to be made that they belong far closer to the Lakers and Knicks than they do the Rockets and Houston. Indeed, the fact they are on the brink of dropping out of the Top 5 continues to say a lot about where things stand for this organization as a whole. String together a couple of winning seasons and find a true superstar, and there is surely even MORE money to be had.
