I don’t normally like doing the whole freezing cold take thing.
Why? Because everybody is wrong sometimes. It’s sports, man. It happens. Sometimes you’re simply on the wrong side of history. It is what it is.
But, man. It feels like every Eagles fan was on the wrong side of things when the team drafted Jalen Hurts with the 21st pick in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft. Like, not a single fan thought “YUP. This is the right move.” They were all so mad.
We have proof. Just take a look back at this reddit post from the NFL draft when the Eagles picked hurts. It’s bad, guys. Really bad.
Somebody thought picking Hurts was worse than picking Jalen Reagor who *checks notes* is playing for his fourth team in five years.
Should’ve drafted CeeDee Lamb.
Yup. Lamb was the right pick. That DEFINITELY would’ve been the right pick. Look at the Cowboys! Oh, wait. Nevermind. Please don’t look at the Cowboys.
There were Russell Wilson comparisons. But, uh, Reddit didn’t seem to believe those held up.
And now look. They’ve got the same number of Super Bowl wins. Nice going.
Yeah, man. Eagles fans, I’m sorry. But we really got this one wrong. And, yes, I’m saying *we* because I’m included, too. Just look at this idiot right here.

In the end, Jalen gets the last laugh. In five years with the Eagles he’s become a two-time Pro-Bowler, a Super Bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP and one of the best touchdown machines in the league
And I’m so thankful that he did.
