Given ESPN’s extensive roster of NFL analysts and commentators, it makes perfect sense for some to take breaks after a long NFL season. But in Dan Orlovsky’s case, it sounded like more than just a break was on the horizon for the former NFL quarterback.
Orlovsky — who joined ESPN in 2018 — was among the analysts appearing on Monday’s edition of First Take to recap the Eagles’ dominant win in the Super Bowl. When the segment came to an end just before commercial, Orlovsky made a point to say farewell to the First Take crew.
But what could have been a simple “I’m going on vacation” message turned into a much murkier sign-off. It seemed like Orlovsky might be done with the network.

Orlovsky said he was taking a break and wouldn’t be on TV for a long time.
Viewers noticed how it sounded like an actual goodbye, and Orlovsky did confirm on Twitter/X that there are decisions to be made.
