Arguably THE premiere Hollywood cool girl, Kristen Stewart is the kind of artist who keeps people talking. Unsatisfied with the status quo, the Spencer star is constantly challenging themselves in new projects. From high-budget blockbusters to no-money indies, Stewart has proven time and time again that she’s much more than “that girl from Twilight” and is actually a powerhouse actor with the resume to back it up.

With her latest film Love Me (which co-stars Nope’s Steven Yeun) out in theaters, audiences are excited to see what the Underwater actor will bring to the table this go around. Stewart recently told Vogue that the sci-fi love story is “the most existential thing I’ve ever done,” so it seems like we’re in for a treat.

Perhaps one reason Stewart can take big swings in interesting projects, however, is due to the massive pay day she received from Twilight. So how much money did she earn for that blockbuster franchise and what is her net worth in 2025? Read on to find out.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Kristen Stewart is worth a massive $70M. Obviously much of that comes from her work in Twilight, bus she's acted in plenty of films since.

How did Kristen Stewart become famous?

Born in Los Angeles to a TV producer father and script-supervising mother, Stewart was seemingly destined for a life in the entertainment industry. From a young age, she showed an interest in acting and even appeared in an uncredited role on the popular Disney Channel Original Movie The Thirteenth Year which her mother worked on. Things took off for Kristen when she was cast in the Jodi Foster thriller Panic Room which opened up opportunities for her in more kid-friendly movies like Catch That Kid and Zathura: A Space Adventure. After snagging roles in a string of indie movies, Stewart was cast in a project that shot her into the fame stratosphere and cemented her as a household name — Twilight.

To this day, the Twilight Saga remains one of Stewart’s most notable projects. She took on the lead role of Bella Swan in the adaptation of the best-selling vampire book series of the same name. Starring alongside Robert Pattison and Taylor Lautner, Stewart garnered a feverish fan base and kicked off the trend in young adult fiction being adapted for the screen. Cranking out five movies over the span of four years was an exhausting process, as Stewart revealed on the Smartless podcast, telling the hosts, “I just crashed and burned and barreled my way through those years and just was really … lacked any balance. I was just working constantly.”

The Twilight movies catapulted Kristen and her costars into mega-fame and the movie’s popularity continued to capture people’s interest long after the final installment hit theaters. Stewart talked to Variety about the public’s obsession with her, understandably explaining, “Rob [Pattinson] and I can’t just keep talking about that shit, because it’s fucking weird. It’s like if someone kept asking you — I mean for literally decades — ‘But senior year in high school?’ You’re like, ‘Fucking A, man! I don’t know!’” But fear not fans, because it appears that underneath it all she still has a soft spot for the films. In a 2021 conversation with Interview, she defended the work, saying, “If you’re doing good work, you’re showing a part of yourself to someone, so I can’t say that Twilight doesn’t have anything to do with Still Alice and Clouds of Sils Maria. They have everything to do with each other. They are who I am.”

The films earned Stewart a slew of MTV Movie awards in addition to some pretty hefty paychecks. While the actor reportedly earned $2 million for starring in the first installment of the series, by the end of her run she was raking in an impressive $25 million per movie for Breaking Dawn parts one and two. Additionally, it’s reported she received 7.5% of gross sales from the movies, and with an astounding combined total of $1.2 billion at the box office, it’s likely Kristen earned around $115 million on the backend — a true vampire’s fortune!

    Snow White and the Huntsman?

In the early days of Hollywood’s obsession with remakes and reimaginings, Snow White and the Huntsman hit the mark with fans and the box office alike. Speaking on the updates this film makes to the story, Stewart told Seventeen that “It's a total identity movie. It's all about not finding yourself, but actually just being OK with who you always have been and not being ashamed of being the only one who sees the light.” The film was so financially successful that it inspired a sequel, though the actor was noticeably absent from the cast list. There was much speculation as to why Stewart didn’t return, but she recently set the record straight in an appearance on Howard Stern’s radio show. “We lived in a different time then, you know what I mean?” she began. “I feel like the slut-shaming that went down was so absurd. And they should’ve put me in that movie! It would’ve been better. Not to be a dick, but... they didn’t put me in that movie because I went through such a highly publicized scandal, and so they were like scared of touching that."

While she may not have returned for the sequel, Kristen did make a reported $9.5 million for her role in the first film, and the last laugh of course was her’s, as The Huntsman: Winter’s War lost $75 million for Universal Pictures. Don’t mess with KStew.

Fans of Kristen Stewart have known for decades that she is an incredible actor, but for many years the narrative was that she was just another teen star who had overstayed their welcome. When the Princess Diana biopic, Spencer, hit the big screen, that was effectively squashed for good. Her performance as the late people’s princess earned her not just a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress, but a nomination for the Academy Awards as well. Stewart was vocal about how much she enjoyed taking on this role and learning more about Diana, telling Vogue Australia, “It felt very, very, very good to be her. This imagined skin was something that made me feel amazing. And that was kind of a surprise because her life was, in a nutshell, quite sad, but the joy in the center of it is why it’s so sad. She had something to fight for that is so spectacular.”

While her compensation for the film has not been made public, it’s likely she only earned a few million for the role given the film's smaller budget.

    Charlie’s Angels (2019)?

When a reboot of the reboot of Charlie’s Angels was announced (yes, that’s a double rebooting), fans were ecstatic to see that Kristen Stewart was going to be playing the head angel in charge with the direction of comedy knockout Elizabeth Banks. Unfortunately, the movie was not well received by critics or even fans (though some people, like the author of this article, did see it multiple times in theaters. Sorry, haters!).

Initially, Stewart defended the movie despite its “flop” status, telling The Playlist shortly after the movie’s release, “Well, to be honest with you, I think if I had made a movie that wasn’t good and one that I wasn’t proud of and a lot of people saw it, I would be devastated. Luckily, I’m not feeling gutted because I really am proud of the movie.” She even went so far as to say she was “bummed” there wouldn’t be a sequel. This could have just been her media training kicking in though because in a 2024 interview with Variety, Stewart was spinning a different tale, saying the remake was “a good idea at the time,” but that she “hated making that movie. I don’t know what else to say to you. Honestly, the three…you can’t touch [that]. Cameron, Lucy, and Drew…I love that movie. I love that movie! If that says anything.”

Whether she loved it or not, according to Showbiz Cheat Sheet, our girl took home between $5-$7 million for her role in the film, and there’s nothing to hate about that.

One of Stewart’s earliest roles, Panic Room put the actor on the map and proved she had what it took to hold her own against some of Hollywood’s biggest acting titans. Starring alongside the prolific actor Jodi Foster, Stewart cut her teeth in this high-profile movie, but there was still time for her to be a kid. In a 2020 Vanity Fair interview she reflected on the time saying, “Jodi Foster threw me a birthday party when I turned 11 with like a mariachi band. I never wanted to leave.” She also explained that the experience deepened her love for the craft of acting, saying, “Every time I had to go home because it had been nine hours I was like ‘Why? I’m fine. I can kick it, I can hang. I’m not tired.” She later concluded “It was a good first taste. it was like, not an easy job. We really had to delve into some heavy stuff… it was a formative time.”

Though the 2002 movie had a substantial budget of $48 million, it’s unlikely that Stewart made too much on her first go in the Hollywood big leagues.

    The Runaways?

One of the few projects that Kristen was able to squeeze in between the relentless shooting schedule of the Twilight Saga was the Joan Jett biopic The Runaways which follows the all-lady ‘70s rock band of the same name which is known for their hit song “Cherry Bomb.” With Stewart leading the movie as Jett, Dakota Fanning was cast as her close friend and counterpart, Cherie Currie, who wrote a book about her experience in the band called Neon Angel: A Memoir of a Runaway, which the film took inspiration from.

Kristen’s earnings for the film have not been made public, but considering the movie had a $10 million budget and made only $4.6 million at the box office, it’s unlikely she took home very much.
