OVERWORKED air traffic controllers issued eerie warnings of “catastrophic” crash risks months before an explosive mid-air massacre claimed 67 lives.
Sixty-seven people are dead after an American Airlines plane collided with a Black Hawk in Washington DC, and a disturbing report claims the controller at the time was doing the job of two people.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said an “elevation mistake” saw the US Army-operated helicopter flying into the pathway of the plane during a training exercise.
However, he added that the Army crew of three was relatively experienced and noted the flight had been planned.
There are no survivors after the plane shattered into three pieces and sank under the ice-cold river waters on Wednesday around 9 pm.
