A fresh batch of famous faces is about to embark on some culinary craftmanship in a new series of the Great Celebrity Bake Off
But there will be one ingredient missing from this year’s show – judge Dame Prue Leith.
Although she has not left the popular Channel 4 show the Great British Bake Off, the 84-year-old has stepped back from the specials, such as the celebrity version, to avoid the constant cycle of filming.

In her place, and joining fellow judge Paul Hollywood, will be Lady Caroline Waldegrave, friend and business partner of Dame Prue.
Hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding will also be returning to the tent this spring, to keep an eye on contestants and create chaos in equal measure.
And there will be a generous sprinkling of 20 celebrities thrown into the mix for The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer – a national fundraising campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4.

Sharing the news on social media, she wrote: “The news is out! I’m thrilled to announce that I will be one of the judges for this series @britishbakeoff @su2cuk.”
Lady Waldegrave is the co-owner and managing director of Leiths School of Food and Wine, which she bought with the former chairman of British Telecom Sir Christopher Bland in 1994.
The 72-year-old was the principal of the school from 1975 until 2002 and she has co-written a number of books with Dame Prue, including Leiths Cookery Bible, Leiths Cooking for One or Two, Leiths Easy Dinner Parties and Leiths Seasonal Bible.
Educated at Woldingham School in Surrey, she married former Tory Cabinet minister and now life peer Lord William Waldegrave in 1975, with whom she has four children.
Who is appearing on this year’s Celebrity Bake Off?
There are 20 celebrities competing this year. Each episode, four celebrities will be challenged to create their best bakes in the signature, technical and showstopper rounds.
At the end of each episode, just one celebrity will be crowned Star Baker.
Last year, the Star Bakers were: Made in Chelsea star and entrepreneur Spencer Matthews, comedian Leigh Francis, comedian David O’ Doherty, presenter Dermot O’Leary and Radio Two host Sara Cox.
