"Mel looks and sounds FABULOUS!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I've been thinking about him a lot lately and this could not be better! Adorable human being. May I please remind everyone of Mel's short film from 1968, 'De Duva: The Dove.' It is the funniest short film ever made, and I am not alone in that appreciation. It's on YouTube," added another.
"It's hard to believe that Mel Brooks is going to be 99. I love all of his movies. What a comedic genius. Thrilled that Phil had him on his show," shared a different person.
"What a wonderful wit he is. Thank you for sharing this with us.❤️," commented a fan.
"Amazing to think that he's four days away from his 99th birthday. He's still got it!" chimed in a fifth person.
The filmmaker has had a long-standing career in Hollywood. His most beloved works include his 1967 film, The Producers, his 1974 movie Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, also released in 1974, and the Star Wars parody, Spaceballs, released in 1987. Brooks is returning as the character Yogurt in the upcoming sequel to Spaceballs, as reported by Deadline. Brooks filmed a promotional video for the new film, which was released on June 12. The clip showed the comedian wearing a Spaceballs sweatshirt.
"After 40 years we asked what do the fans want but instead we're making this movie. May the Schwartz be with you," said Brooks to his audience.
