POLICE REPORTS

The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.

SHOPLIFTER: Caller at Walmart on Airport Park Boulevard reported at 3:48 p.m. Jan. 24 that a theft occurred. An officer responded and arrested a 16-year-old Hopland girl for theft and concealing/destroying evidence. She was booked at Mendocino County Juvenile Hall.

    SHOPLIFTER: Caller at Rite-Aid reported at 4:23 p.m. Jan. 24 that someone stole items. An officer responded and arrested a 36-year-old Oregon woman for theft. She was booked into Mendocino County Jail.

    SHOPLIFTER: Caller at Safeway on South State Street reported at 7:34 p.m. Jan. 24 that a theft occurred. An officer responded and arrested a 15-year-old male for being drunk in public and theft, and a 16-year-old male for being drunk in public. They were both booked at juvenile hall.

    DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of East Perkins Street at 1:13 a.m. Jan. 25 and arrested Nick Magana, 25, unknown city of residence, on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was cited and released.

    SHOPLIFTER: Caller at Tractor Supply on Airport Park Boulevard reported at 3:36 p.m. Jan. 25 that someone stole a blower. An officer responded and arrested a 37-year-old Willits man for theft and violating his probation. He was booked into county jail.

    ILLEGAL CAMPING: Caller reported at 4:42 p.m. Jan. 25 that someone was sleeping on a bench in the 300 block of East Perkins Street. An officer responded and arrested a Santa Rosa resident for illegal camping and violating their probation.

    SHOTS FIRED: Caller in the 600 block of Myron Place reported at 3:28 a.m. Jan. 26 hearing shots fired. An officer responded and “checked the area extensively” but did not locate anyone who was injured or find anything damaged. At 10:17 a.m., a caller on nearby Orr Street reported finding bullet holes in her vehicle. An officer responded and took a report.

    UNRESPONSIVE WOMAN IN POST OFFICE: Caller at the post office on South Orchard Avenue reported at 8:59 a.m. Jan. 26 that an “unresponsive female was inside.” An officer responded and the person was transported to the hospital.

    SHOTS FIRED: Caller in the 1100 block of Incline Drive reported at 9:41 p.m. Jan. 26 hearing shots fired. An officer responded and reported finding nothing of concern.

    Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper.
