NFL fans noticed the Kansas City Chiefs seemed to take a shot at the Buffalo Bills on social media.
The Chiefs have advanced to Super Bowl 59 after narrowly beating the Buffalo Bills 31-28 in the AFC Championship.
After Sunday’s win, the Chiefs’ social media team uploaded sequences of the players’ and other key organization members’ postgame interviews to YouTube.
Eagle-eyed fans, however, spotted the run-time for each of the five of the videos – three minutes, 33 seconds.
That amount of time was the same amount left in regulation after the Chiefs took the 32-29 lead with a field goal.
Josh Allen and Buffalo’s offense proceeded to turn the ball on downs after a six-play, 17-play drive – their final one of the day.
The last play of that drive saw a fourth-and-five play in which Kansas City brought the pressure and Allen rolled out and threw a pass to Dalton Kincaid, who had the ball in his hands but couldn’t come up with it.
Kansas City then ended the game with a seven-play, 27-play drive.
Fans on social media reacted to the subtle troll job by the Chiefs.
“Next level petty. And I’m ok with it,” one wrote.
“Oh hell nah that’s diabolical,” another commented.
“Chiefs activated villain mode,” a third said.
The videos were eventually deleted and then re-uploaded to their actual runtimes.
Mahomes completed 18 of 26 passes for 245 passing yards, 43 rushing yards, and three total touchdowns.
He has a 4-0 playoff record against Allen and the Bills squad.
Kansas City will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl in New Orleans on February 9.
It will be a rematch of Super Bowl 57 when the Chiefs beat the Eagles 38-35.
Kansas City went on to win another big game last year and have a chance of achieving the NFL‘s first-ever three-peat.
Mahomes will look to win his fourth Super Bowl MVP.
The Chiefs will be playing in its fifth big game in the last six years.
