TIGER WOODS and Rory McIlroy were unable to significantly boost TV ratings for their new TGL league.
Woods, 49, and McIlroy, 35, founded an indoor team golf league together.
TGL is four matches into its first season and only one game has surpassed 1million viewers.
According to Front Office Sports, ESPN drew an average of 864,000 viewers for Jupiter Links Golf Club’s victory over Boston Common Golf.
That’s significantly higher from last week’s audience of 682,000 viewers.
However, it is also down from the league’s debut broadcast (919,000) and the first match Woods played in (1million).
TGL is currently averaging 874,000 viewers through four matches on ESPN.
That’s a significant blow for the famous Tiger effect that has impacted golf‘s TV ratings for the past 25 years.
The two matches involving the golf legend averaged 932,000 viewers, while the two without him drew an average of 800,500.
The Monday night match on ESPN marked TGL’s first overtime affair.
Woods’ Jupiter Links defeated McIlroy‘s Boston Common Golf, with a score of 4-3.
That was Jupiter Links’ first victory in the league after losing 12-1 to Los Angeles in their debut.
Boston Common Golf, on the other hand, were making their TGL bow.
