Former Vice President Kamala Harris has taken to social media to address President Joe Biden’s recent cancer diagnosis.
Harris shared on Instagram, “Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis. We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time. Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery.”

An announcement was made on Sunday, May 18, 2025, that former president Joe Biden was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer.
According to a statement released by Biden’s personal office, “Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.”
The statement also shared, “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.”
Now Biden, 82, and his family are currently in the process of “reviewing treatment options with his physicians,” the statement added.
According to CNN, Biden is currently at his home in Wilmington, Delaware.
This news comes after last years Biden was described by Kevin C. O'Connor - Physician to the President as being, "a healthy, active, robust 81-year-old male, who remains fit to successfully execute the duties of the Presidency, to include those of Chief Executive, Head of State and Commander in Chief."
President Biden left office on January 20, 2025, after the conclusion of his four year term, with his successor Donald J. Trump’s inauguration.
